Photography is an impossible attempt at capturing reality. What comes of it can only be our perceived experience, resulting in more than just an image, but an image encapsulated with the peak emotions of the moment, the feeling of the air, that feeling that resonates deep into your soul. If the artist isn’t in the moment, the photo tells.

My favorite pen ran out of ink (August 2024) (International Photography Awards Honorable Mention, Fine Art Photobook Category)
My favorite pen ran out of ink is an interpretation of my experience living in Japan as an expat student in search of my artistic voice. Life in Tokyo offers a strange sense of isolation and freedom, which allows for uncertainty and self-discovery. Through heartaches, failures, and occasional successes, I found my voice in calling out to that universal emotional resonance—a feeling that connects us all—that exists in all things and beings from the spectacular to the mundane, and aimed to capture that by shortening the perceptive gap between myself, the viewer, and our shared reality. This project is intended for print and exhibition.

Big Apple Bites (November 2022)
New York City is a behemoth of a city. It’s impossible to photograph it in its entirety. Big Apple Bites expresses the sights, smells, sounds, and feelings the Big Apple through “bite-sized” fragmental photography: images that focus on one feeling or moment rather than expressing a statement. This project is intended for zine print.

Landescape (2021)
Camera in lap and mom on the map, Landescape is a first-perspective typographic photo project documenting the various landscapes that captured my inspiration while driving cross-country from Ohio to California.

Fine Art Photography

The term “Fine Art” when used in reference to photography, is more of a blanket term for any photo that invokes feeling, exhibits aesthetic taste and compositional techniques, captures the “moment”, which can be a photo of anything. This section is meant to mirror that philosophy as a growing and changing medley of photography worth spending a minute with.
